Gail Vida Hamburg

Gail Vida Hamburg is a writer-producer, journalist, and founder of Rainworks Omnimedia, an independent media company developing film, television, publishing, and cultural storytelling projects for international audiences.



 

Over a career spanning journalism, literature, theater, museum exhibitions, and screenwriting, she has created narrative projects that explore the intersection of history, culture, science, and social change. Her work has been developed and presented across North America, Europe, and Asia.



 

Gail served as a journalist for the Chicago Tribune and later contributed to The Huffington Post. She subsequently developed five traveling museum exhibition stories for the globe touring BODY WORLDS franchise, seen by more than 50 million visitors worldwide.



She is the author of several award-recognized books, including Liberty Landing, a PEN/Bellwether Prize finalist, and The Edge of the World, recognized by the Graham Greene Festival and nominated for the James Fenimore Cooper Prize. A commissioned librettist, she has also written original works for the musical stage and developed multiple award-recognized screenplays.

 Her current television drama series development slate includes Rehab Riviera, Heart Meridian, and La Patronnesse.

 

As founder of Rainworks Omnimedia, Hamburg develops original intellectual property across television, film, publishing, and immersive media. Her projects frequently focus on extraordinary historical figures, cultural movements, and social issues with international relevance.



 

Gail holds an Master of FIne Arts in Literature and Creative Writing from Bennington College, Vermont, USA and studied undergraduate Mass Communications at the former North East London Polytechnic.
